MD2: THE REVIEW

A review of UCL Fantasy MD2

MD2: THE REVIEW

📬 MD2 of UCL Fantasy didn’t disappoint with popular captaincy picks Lewandowski & Mo Salah getting double digit hauls, and popular transfers in (Adeyemi, Lookman & Raphina) also performing very well.

23 points from Adeyemi - well done owners!

🔮 How did my MD2 suggestions go?

Quite well. In my ‘Five Potential Bargains’ section for MD2, I mentioned Ademola Lookman (£6.5m) as a player to target and he duly returned with 14 points.

✅ Another player I mentioned was Marcus Thuram, but when I saw he was benched, I immediately recommended Mehdi Taremi as my 0-1% pick who would do well (see the tweet below). Make sure you follow me on X as I can react to last minute team news like that and tell you where to focus.

Taremi went on to score, get two assists and claim the player of the match for a total of 16 points.

➡️ Other MD2 predictions that returned: Inaki Pena (6 points), Rico Lewis (10 points), Can (9 points), Schlotterbeck (6 points), Guirassy (10 points), Trent AA (8 points).

MY TEAM

🟩 I had a completely average MD2 scoring 70 points and getting a (exactly) 10k green arrow moving from 61,825 → 51,825. I’d be pretty happy with that if i didn’t seen many 90+ scores from you lot last week!

I had a semi-decent week all in all. A good captain in Salah, decent points in defence and two strikers who scored.

What differentiated my team from the 90+ teams then? An aggressive upside pick.

My two planned transfers for MD2 were Salah and Lewa in. On the surface these look like successful moves - both returned well - however I think they caused me as many problems as they solved.

Let me explain.

The managers who already had Salah and Lewa from MD1, had the ability to be much more flexible with their transfers in MD2. This led to lots of managers picking high upside players like Adeyemi (21 points), Lookman (14 points), even Taremi (16 points).

I would have loved these players (and highly recommended them all) but I didn’t have any transfers left to bring them in (without a hit)!

It’s another reminder that thinking too many gameweeks ahead and booking in transfers in advance usually creates issues.

Anyway, I can’t complain, a green arrow is a green arrow and being 50k in MD2 is not to be sniffed at. Super solid start overall.

My MD3 newsletter with players to target, my suggested limitless team and, importantly, the essential team news will be out 24 hours before the next deadline (22nd Oct, 17:45 BST).
